While i getting trouble with product support back in my country, not only the warranty only valid for short time (start from 1weeks to around 6months at most), you will need to do really long process to get your warranty, so its just seems worthless.
That’s why i learn myself to choose good products and use them well for quite long time, so i dun need the warranty even if they add it.
I think warranty things is more like physiology, i mean when you see a product that have long warranty you will think that the product have good quality, right? … the answer maybe yes maybe no, indeed there are some good company making good product, but nowdays company tends to create cheap products and sell them at high price, attaching them with long warranty wont hurt the company, since the company can use refurbish product as their warranty items.
Speaking about warranty, i dunno how long IKEA product warranty, it seems each kind of product have their limited warranty, what i know is a bed have 5years comfortable warranty (sorry if i wrong, i just remember that i ever read that somewhere)… After using IKEA lamp for about 8months for unknown reason the lamp getting broke, it seems the lamp have overheat issue, plus the switch that near head of lamp make it worst, lately the lamp won’t turn on when i switch on the switch, i have to try switching on-off multiple time to get the lamp turn on.
Since i dun feel like to spend extra money for another lamp, i just tried to email IKEA costumer service and ask whether they have and sell replacement parts or not, then few days later i got the reply saying that they don’t sell replacement parts and asking me to provide some information on my purchase receipt, luckily i still kept the receipt so i reply the email, i want to know what IKEA costumer service people can do, frankly i just thinking they just toying with the costumer asking many things and if costumer can’t provide the information, they will say “sorry i can’t help your trouble because bla bla bla…”
few days later i got another reply and kinda suprise with it, they said the lamp model changed on summer and they will replace my 8months lamp for new lamp (+ they will also pay for the shipping cost), i really dun expect that i can get replacement for free, it really really nice!!
(Well i dunno how other country IKEA works, but IKEA Japan have really great costumer service.)
Another nice expericen is back when first time i buy product from IKEA, i got trouble with assembly service (that works somewhat rashly), but thanks to IKEA costumer service, they provide me replacement for broken parts ASAP.
Since i got this nice experince i will absolutely back to IKEA everytime i need something
IKEA Company rating ★★★★★ 5/5 Stars
Another good company that i want to mention is Apple and E-Trend
Experience with apple, back then one of my friend’s ipod broke (seems there issue with the battery), since he still have his warranty valid, apple instantly give him fresh ipod. While i heard replacement ipod/iphone is refurbish items, but since it have same packaging like the original new items, i believe the quality wont be different from new items whatsoever.
Apple
While E-Trend is a PC-Parts Online Shop, we can’t buy directly on their shop since there some items that they didn’t have on-stock, usually this kind of Online Shop not really reliable since not only we don’t know when we will receive the product, but also the product itself, if it have issue we will have to contact the maker rather than bring to shop for RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization).
So did E-Trend, in their shopping agreement, if we have problem with the product, we have to contact maker, after that for only within 7days you can exchange the product to e-trend if the maker said you can exchange it (after 7days, e-trend no longer permit you to exchange). So it just another online-shop, what the good things about E-Trend?
Well there is some nice staff in E-Trend that understand costumer problem, and we can RMA directly to their shop instead contacting maker and other time consuming things.
Speaking of RMA, people that RMA their product almost all time that they have an issue with their product thus they want RMA, i dun think people want to waste their time for RMA if their product dun have problem, so why some shop making difficult for RMA? …
I heard many big-shop in states that easily give costumer to exchange a purchased product, that not only because the product have issue, but it also include if the costumer don’t like the product
like what IKEA 90days money back warranty.
